Hop for Visibility, Awareness and Equality

Recently, in the news North Carolina has been prevalent. And it's not for a good thing. North Carolina passed a law that makes it illegal for Trans people to use the bathroom of their gender. It states they must use the washroom of the gender they were born with. Yes, I'm going to give you a second to take that in.

Got it?

Does it make sense to you?

For me, that's an issue because Trans men are MEN. They aren't women pretending to be men they are MEN and the honest truth is I do not want to walk into a female washroom and there's Buck Angel washing his hands beside me. That would scare the crap out of me. For those of you who has no idea who Buck Angel is...

Buck Angel

The sad thing is I don't think the powers that be in NC thought this through. They are forcing their beliefs on the people and none of them stopped to ask what people wanted. You see, people living in NC are feeling the burn because businesses are pulling out of the state, I'm talking BIG businesses--Paypal, NBA just to name a couple. There is a major bank from Europe that refuses to do business with the state. Concerts pulled, Cirque Du Soleil pulled and people in the state are putting up posters in their windows saying they don't care. Use the bathroom of your gender not the one you were born with--they don't care. So who is this law really benefiting?

Seriously people, this needs to stop. Stop trampling on people because of who they are to satisfy some sick sense of right that you have. And stop calling it Gay rights. This is WAY past being gay straight bi or trans. This has become a case of HUMAN rights and we all need to stand up and speak out.  Hating someone because they are trans or gay or bit or Pan sexual makes no sense, that's like hating someone else because they're black.  It's wrong.

It takes so much energy to hate on people. It takes so much energy to spread hate. We've hated for hundreds of years and it led to nothing but wars and death. It hasn't worked out for us once because we use that hatred and anger others which leads to nothing but catastrophe. Why don't we try something different? Why don't we try opening our arms to those around us - Why can't we focus on someone's heart and the good they do rather than who they sleep with or what is between their legs?

What I'm trying to say in my long winded way (like I always do lol) we've tried hate, now let's do something our forefathers had no clue how to do. Let's open our hearts and welcome those good people around us regardless of what they look like, who they sleep with or who they were born to be. Please, spread some love.

  1. Reading news concerning NC has been so frustrating to me. I'm really glad to see your post defending the right for individuals to use the bathrooms of the gender they were born with, that you spelled it out. Thank you for taking the time to help spread awareness!

  2. The 'many' that complain are actually outweighed by the majority who either care a lot or are not bothered (because they have bigger issues in their own lives to worry about). We just need more of these to speak up - but glad that some places are doing their own 'anybody goes' rules re toilets (bathrooms are a whole different thing to me!!)

  4. Yes! Agreed--this is a HUMAN rights issue, with many facets. I probably wouldn't freak if Buck Angel came out to wash his hands next to me, figuring he just needed to pee and the men's room was gross or busy, LOL. (Heck, I'd probably swoon and ask for an autograph!) But yeah, I think most people would be upset. It's not a well-thought-out law.

  5. I feel like if I have to tell one more backwoods bigot that trans men are men, and trans women are women, my head is going to explode.

  9. I agree with you. Hate takes so much energy it ends up eating all your soul. So many haters would change their minds if they would only open their minds and try to understand. But we fear what we do not know and fear takes us to hate. That's why visibility is so important. Thank you for joining the hop!

  10. So many of the people passing these anti-gay laws are saying that it's to protect others, but these laws are doing nothing but harming others, whether through causing division, hurting the local economy, or hurting those in the trans community. I agree, it's time to try something different than hate.

"This story is about two grown ass gay men that each have a little doubt for one reason or another if their relationship will work. The story is conveyed well and kept completely on the adult playing field, I loved it! When these two get going in the bedroom it is passionate and sensual."--TSM
