QTA Christmas Blog Hop: What Christmas Means to Me and Goodies

Hey!! Thanks for stopping by, looking all spank-tacular and everything!

Merry Christmas (early)!

So I'm supposed to talk about what Christmas means to me for this blog hop being put on by Queer Town Abbey and that is such a good topic. As a child Christmas was just another day. The only special thing about it for my sisters and I was that we got to got time off school and we went to church in the middle of the week if it fell on a weekday. We ate the same food we ate every other day, drank the same things, sang Whitney Houston songs at the top of our lungs (off key might I add) and throw fruits at the boys as they walked by below our house. Those were fun times - hacking fruits at boys *grins* I lived in Jamaican then.
In my teens it was all about going to the mall with my friends and buying gifts. Then we'd have a day where we exchanged them at school. Then there is the thing about the snow - Canadian Christmas is nothing to sneeze at and if you don't be careful, you may lose things due to frost bite.

Now as an adult - It's all rush rush rush and then I sleep for about a week then get up and do it all again. But now, I am older I can  understand that Christmas is about family and being close to the ones you love. Christmas is about being thankful for the year that went buy,  no matter how crappy it is and Christmas is about Sorrel (It's a Caribbean Alcoholic (preferably) beverage that the mothers (mostly) makes at Christmas time. Forget the eggnog. The next time you're at a Jamaican's house for the holidays? Ask for Sorrel!

But - lately, Christmas seem to be about the really corny movies we see on Lifetime or those other softie networks! So, what is your favorite Corny Christmas movie (hint you can't say A CHRISTMAS STORY lol What? It's a classic! lol)

Oh and by the way?

Okay, so for the fun of it, on the last day of this blog hop (which is December 13th) I'm going to pick one comment and give the writer of said comment a $10 Dreamspinner Press gift certificate to. Another will receive a copy of my story COWBOY MINE! Its a kinda sorta Xmas story about a sexy bull rider and a History professor!

  1. I am SUCH a sucker for corny Christmas movies! The Bishop's Wife, A Christmas in Connecticut, A Christmas Carol (the Muppet version is my fav!) but if I had to pick only one, it would be It's a Wonderful Life. I know, it's sad but true. I really identify with George Bailey. ;-)

  2. The Lifetime/Hallmark movies are on constantly, but I can't tell any of 'em apart! (Probably because I always happen on them partway through, and they recycle all the same actors.) I still like A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS, and (if it counts) I love the Christmas sequence in MIRACLE, where all the cute hockey boys exchange gag gifts before playing a pickup game of football (yes, football) in the snow...

  3. It's not really corny but I like Bad Santa. Billy Bob Thornton is perfect a scruffy criminal Santa.

"This story is about two grown ass gay men that each have a little doubt for one reason or another if their relationship will work. The story is conveyed well and kept completely on the adult playing field, I loved it! When these two get going in the bedroom it is passionate and sensual."--TSM
