Hop Against Homophobia and Transphobia

After all these years, we still have to do this in order to help human beings get the rights they deserve. I still cannot understand it no matter how much I try or how many horrible things I hear in the news. There are those who seek to outlaw same-sex marriage--basically telling people they cannot be who they are--or who they are is wrong. Who gives us that right?

I don't understand why we cannot look past "gay" and see human. It is not a matter that we cannot change. Even if we were taught to be hateful and horrible, there is a chance for change.

Take me for example,

I am Jamaican. While I love my country and the people there, Jamaicans can be horrible when it comes to the LGBT community. Don't believe me? Listened to a reggae song lately? They condone violence against the LGBT community and as a child I used to sing these songs loud and proud. Of course I didn't really understand what was being said or the ramification it could cause should a friend heard me singing it. I do not know how many people I hurt or how many hearts I broke partaking in that kind of behaviour but look at me today? I grew past it, I educated myself. I learned all I could and the truth is there is no need for this hate. There is no need for wat is happening today.

We are all on this planet together and I believe it is our job to make it the best time we can. We should love more and care more. We have to learn that saying a kind word doesn't make us weak but strong. We have to open our arms to the people around us and be the best version of ourselves we can be.

Today I stand in unity with the LGBT community, supporting love and helping to fight against homophobia and transphobia. I think if we stand tall enough, speak loud and clear enough, and lead by example, our grandchildren will learn from our mistakes and not judge someone by who they are or who they sleep with.

Leave a message of support in the comment section and you could win an ebook copy of SHIVERS 2: OSAKI - Don't forget to leave an email so we can reach you if you win.

Have yourselves a great day and please continue on with the blog hop - and remember, a smile or a kind word can go a LONG way to saving a life. Our children are dying from homophobia and transphobia--that is something we should all be worried about and do everything in our power to prevent.

  2. We need more voices of diversity! While I focus more on F/F, I also look for authors of color for various promotional events. Let me know if you are interested.

"This story is about two grown ass gay men that each have a little doubt for one reason or another if their relationship will work. The story is conveyed well and kept completely on the adult playing field, I loved it! When these two get going in the bedroom it is passionate and sensual."--TSM
