My Love of All positive things Interracial

When I moved to Canada as a new teenager, walking around with all the cultures scared the crap out of me. But my parents did an amazing thing - they dropped me into the midst of a culture mosaic. My first class in Canada was rich with Africans, Sri Lankans, Russians, French, English, Polish, Indians - etc. The fun part was I was like a pig in mud - I enjoyed it immensely and began meeting people who was as curious about me as I was about them.

At fourteen I had my first 'boyfriend' lol. You know, back then we thought we were hardcore walking around holding hands and giggling at every bad joke he gave. But he was from India. He often times joked that he was kidnapped by aliens but what he meant was he was adopted by Caucasian Canadians who ensured he retained his culture and his knowledge of Urdu. It was amazing to me.

As I got older, I began submersing myself into all the cultures around me from the food, to the histories to the clothing to the languages and the dances and movies. By the time I was in grade 11 in high school, I knew more about Hindi movies than most people from Bollywood.

That same year, one of my English teacher found out my dirty little secret - I could string sentences together and make other people enjoy it. She gave an assignment where we had to research a genre of literature, and write a short story in that genre. I wrote a story (MF) called Under a Blue Moon it was a romance short about a woman who was blind and thought love would never find her because she couldn't see it coming. There was no sex scene in it but it was a White male and Black female. I scored an A and a lecture from her about how I should take my writing more seriously.

After I graduated high school, I decided to take her up on her offer. When I wanted to decide what to write, I didn't set out to write Interracial. I just wanted to write something about two people who just happened to be from a different background who fall in love.

But as I look back, I realise that I am in love with all things interracial. From relationships to friendships. Maybe I'm biased because my best friend is Caucasian but I find I work better in a group of friends who are from every spectrum of the colour wheel. My thing is, if we weren't all meant to be friends we wouldn't all be here. There is something so much more wonderful about people who are different coming together, realizing they're different but sharing life because there is so much we can learn from each other. I'm not saying you're supposed to hate your 'own kind' what I'm saying is keep an open mind. Be kind to everyone. Sure you cannot be friends with everyone and sometimes personalities clash, but what friendship doesn't have their moments?  Delve into other cultures and see what happens. Who knows? If we didn't open ourselves up none of us wouldn't be doing the Gagnam Style or listening to some awesome Kpop or Jpop music. Without an open mind, there wouldn't be any Jai Ho...

So allow yourself to delve into a culture...you can come out the other side with some amazing stories, some awesome food, great art and just maybe, an fan-tabstic friend!

Dance anyone?

After much ado--DANCE FOR ME (written with Allison Cassatta) is here! It's sitting pretty over at ARE and ready to being in your hot little hands!

Lo... When they dance into your heart and falling can't be helped ...ve

Alexander Benton is used to getting what he wants. With his wealthy parents MIA most times, he is left to rule Juilliard and half of Manhattan with impunity. He hides his misery behind meaningless sex and condemning behavior.

Augusto Catalan grew up poor. To make a living, he dances at a local gay performance club and survives on the poverty line. His crappy New York apartment and simple life make him happy---except for the death of his lover, his brother being in a war zone and his life-long dream of getting into Juilliard slipping away with each passing day.

When Alex meets Augusto, he knows there is no way this ghetto boy is getting into /his/prestigious school. Then he sees Augusto dance

Simply Irresistible is here!!

For years, Anthony Duncan has kept his flings away from his son. He wants to protect his son from his different lovers and the drama they can bring. Three years ago, Anthony stopped dating—that is until he meets his son’s teacher and just cant seem to keep his mind off the sexy, blue-eyed devil. A chance meeting on the dance floor broke the floodgates wide open.  If these two aren’t too scared to dive right in, they just may have something worth having.

Simply Irresistible is an ARe Best Seller!

Revamping, writing and stuff

So lately, I've been feeling a little out of it. I just haven't been feeling like writing anymore and it is a sad day when I sit before my computer and just want to toss it out the window. Most of you know me and you know that I've been in a horrible mood lately and while I can't tell you why, I have this to say. Cage Fighter's Salvation is back in my editing pile. I am going through it with a fine, tooth comb, digging out spelling errors, grammatical errors etc but no I am NOT taking out the sweetness, jokes etc. I am adding stuff to make it concise, and sound. It's going to take me a little while to have that out to publishing houses but as soon as that happens I'll post that here. Redemption will be coming to Loose Id at some point. Not sure yet though. The release date has been changed and as soon as I know it, so will you.

With that said, I am revamping everything. The looks of my website, blog etc will probably change but nothing too drastic. My website will remain where it is right now and so will my blog. If you check my site under WIP you will notice two new titles. I am currently in the process of finishing Private Dancer. It should be finished in the next couple of weeks. It is a short, not IR, and I am not sure if I'll self publish it like Keep It In The Closet or shop it around. Once it's complete and I go through it for edits, flow etc we shall see.

Also you'll see a blurb for a title tentatively titled, Fire Apocalypse. It will be my first attempt at paranormal stuff. I didn't want to use a vampire or a werewolf or a fallen angel because let's face it--all those have been done. I went the way of the Elements. It will be Interracial-don't think I want to do another none interracial again lol.

Let's see, what else? Thanks for sticking with me through this time of change. I am throwing ideas around seeing which one stick. Thanks to those of you on facebook who have been so wonderful in sending me PMs seeing if I was alright and for writing on my wall checking up on me. I'm fine now, and I am hoping to have great titles for you for 2010.

Hugs,

"This story is about two grown ass gay men that each have a little doubt for one reason or another if their relationship will work. The story is conveyed well and kept completely on the adult playing field, I loved it! When these two get going in the bedroom it is passionate and sensual."--TSM
