Wounded Hearts - A Co-authored bit if sexy

*waves* Hello everyone.

Yes, I know, I've been a bad bad girl and not blogging here often but it's been hell around my world lately. I've been working two jobs, seven days a week plus I was under the gun to finish up KOI (the final story in the SHIVERS series) so it's been a little crazy.

Alright people, THIS IS NOT A DRILL! I repeat, this is NOT a drill!

WOUNDED HEARTS - book 1 in the WOUNDED series that I've been working on with Sharita is out and for sale at Dreamspinner Press. You can get it in eBook Version and Print so whatever your fancy. To make it even better, you can snag a copy wherever you buy your Remmy yummies! You can grab it at the Dreamspinner Website by clicking here.

And please show my co-author some love by checking our her space on the interwebs. She is good people.

BLURB:
Zane Ashford's stint in the NYPD comes to an aburpt halt when he is injured in the line of duty. After waking up partially blind in one eye, all he wants to do is crawl into a hole, but his friends and family won't leave him alone. Reluctantly, he lets his best friend talk him into time away on a ranch in Montana. But the moment he gets there and meets Cyrsu Abrams, Zane begins to contemplate murder.

Cyrus Abrams is vulgar, ornery, stuck in his ways and not about to change for anyone, no matter how good Zane Ashford looks in those jeans. The more they lock horns, the more Cyrus begins to see Zane in a whole new light.  but Cyrus has a past, one that left him in big trouble and more broken than he cares to admit--a past no one told Zane about. Cyrus fears that when Zane finds out,e everything will come to a screeching halt.

I hope you enjoy this story. I had great fun writing it with Sharita. There is a second book in the works that we're editing for this series and it will be shipped off to our publisher as soon as we've gutted it (lol) but seriously....

Please, do not hesitate to drop me a line to my email or on facebook. I'm always there--a little less lately that I'm teaching in the day time and lesson prepping in the mornings but I will always reply.

Thug Life- Not for Me

Over the past few months, I've been getting these emails about the kind of black men I write. No, they aren't the good letters, they are the letters that are asking me why my black men had to be so proper. One lady even go as far as to tell me that my black men aren't "real". Confused, I emailed her back and asked her what she meant by "real." She told me they speak too well, they are educated and "real" black men are not like that.

I took a breath, walked away from the computer, cleaned my whole house, drove my mom's car and washed it then finally sat down in front of my computer to pen a reply. Now, I know most of you reading this is thinking I shouldn't have responded to her because there is no hope for people like that, but I like trying to help people before I completely just walk away. I asked her what kind of black men was she hanging around with?

Ever since I was a child, I was never then one to conform to stereotypes. I watched Power Rangers instead of adult programming, I wore long, elegant skirts instead of booth shorts. I read books instead of going out and getting into trouble-I've been a strange against the grain girl since I was little.

One of the reasons I started writing M/M is because I got tired of the M/M I was reading.  I've read books that I only finished reading because I paid for the things and would find it a complete waste if I DNR them. The gay romance/erotica I was reading were so deeply entrenched in stereotypes I wanted to cry every time. Either the men were too feminine, or they weren't at all very bright. One book I read had the main character sobbing from the fifth line of the first page and didn't seem to stop until the book ended.  I'm not saying men don't cry, it's just they don't sob over every little thing--that is not sexy.

Which brings me to my black men.  My black men are suave, intelligent -even if they aren't book smart they're street smart and they know when to be polite when when they need to be naughty. They don't talk thug. Sometimes there will be a splash of jargon in there but nothing too overtly offensive. I don't find thugs sexy.  I don't like my men wearing their pants down showing the cracks of their asses. I don't like the flashing gang signs with "thug life" tattooed to their necks and saying the N word after every syllable.

It's like watching the newly coined "thug porn." The moment they start screaming "N word this" and  "N word that" I clock out.

So, I'm not saying there's anything wrong with liking that or wanting to watch or read that kind of thing. If that's what you love then whatever floats your boat, but do not expect me to write that kind of thing. It is definitely not me and I don't accept that every black man out there has to talk as if they never heard the word "school". There are plenty of other people out there who write that kind of thing. I just want to make people see the other side of our black men. The side where they pronounce their words properly, who dress appropriately and who speak to people the way they would like to be spoken to.  I write men who are positive role models, who are passionate and always seek to do the right thing.

What people fail to understand, is my brain works with things that I like. If a thug doesn't turn me on I cannot hope to write one that is as sexy as my man who works two jobs and is looking for love. I am tired of seeing black men in these roles that makes them seem as if they're the devil's offspring. This is another reason why I disliked the tv show GANG RELATED so desperately. It was another cesspool of the blacks were thugs holding their guns sideways and carrying out drive-bys, the Asians were Triads, the Latinos were Mexican cartel - it was just downright pathetic.

People are more than just the colour of their skin or the label we give them. People are better than the way a small a portion of fools from that culture. Look past the negative and see them as human beings deserving of love, laughter and happiness.

I chose to be that different voice that see through the horrible to the good. I chose to write men that I would date, that I find sexy and desirable. In my writing, I chose to be me.

Love,
Remmy D

Holiday Hangover Blog Hop

Now that the Christmas cookies are gone, gifts unwrapped, and your holiday visitors have left, you’ve earned some well-deserved TLC. Evernight authors not only have the cure for your holiday hangover, they have fantastic new books for your 2015 reading list, too!

Be sure to visit every stop on the hop and answer each question. The more you blogs you hop, the more chances to win the GRAND PRIZE of an iPad Mini sponsored by Evernight Publishing (one entry per blog). Plus, hop each blog for a host of other fabulous prizes.

So sink into your favorite chair and enjoy your holiday hangover!
You know what's funny? I've never had any kind of hangover before. I don't drink much--I'll have a blue zen or an electric Popsicle now and then or even a couple of beers from time to time but nothing to get drunk on. Then it comes a shock that I'd even agree to be a part of this blog hop. But, here I am anyway.

During the holidays there were more people than usual in the house. My sister and her four children descended on the joint and it was insane. First of all everything was non-stop. And while I adore my sister and is in complete love with my nieces and nephews, they get to be too much at times. My house is fairly quiet and the neighborhood is also quiet so when they came it was like my bubble popped and the world invaded.

From  one screaming, "Auntie he's breathing on me!" To them screaming at each other from the top of the stairs, to them running a mock in Wal-mart as we went boxing day shopping to "are we there yet?" while we were walking to said Wal-mart--it was a mad house.

Here are some tips for de-stressing after the family invasion is over:

  1. Clean the house from top to bottom - no matter how much they packed before they leave, chances are they will leave something behind and you must find it, report it and put it away for safe keeping. So while you're doing this, save yourself some time and just clean.
  2. Get a nice glass of wine (For you Caribbean folks, Sorrel and for everyone else, Spiked Eggnog (psst, I suggest white rum), or tequila).
  3. Grab your kindle (or for those who love your paperback, snag one).
  4. Fill your bath-tub with water and your favorite bubble bath - now for me, it's Japanese Cherry Blossoms from Bath and Body - but might I suggest lavender, it calms you.
  5. Make sure you have your favorite soft rock (love songs like Luther Vondross, Gerald Levert, old school Mary J Blige, a little new school Sam Smith) with you.
  6. Lock yourself in, strip naked and slip into this warm, bubbly water up to your neck.

Yes, reading in the tub with your favorite music playing softly in the background, your favorite drink at hand and a hot book? What beats that for some peace and quiet and a way to recharge the batteries that were run dry with your family all up in your space? That is how I recharge after the holiday.

Now for some fun!

Enter for a chance to win Evernight’s GRAND PRIZE of an iPad Mini and my blog prize (An ebook copy of any of my Evernight releases) by answering this question (be sure to include your email address to be eligible to win): My question to you is this - if you could find a way to de-stress after the family is gone, what would that be?

Please be sure to continue on the hop by clicking any of my fellow Evernighters below! Thanks again for stopping by and from me, Mantasy, my family to yours, Bonne année!
*hugs*

Cover Reveal - Sons of Eros Series!

When I started deciding I would self published - I wasn't sure when I was going to have the time. Then Silver Publishing went ka-blue-y and I suddenly have all these stories on my computer with no home. I did some work and suddenly I have this new inspiration with a couple of friends to have this little group and self publish our stuff. Now, thanks to the FAB-TASTIC Jess Buffet - I have brand spanking new sexy covers for the Sons of Eros Series!!! Please, let me know what you think in the comment section and show Jess some love too!!

Sons of Eros 1: Savaro's Honey Buns

Sons of Eros 2: Rajan's Seduction
Sons of Eros 3: Laird's Choice

Sons of Eros 4: Jose's Surrender

Please, let me know what you think!
Remmy Duchene

In the next little while....

As most of you know I was one of the authors in that whole Silver Publishing drama.  While I will not go into vast details, you know the gist of what happened. So with all of that, I have a whole slew of stories without a home. This blog post is just to update you on where some of your favorites will be and for those of you who have been emailing me about the ones that were with Silver but you can no longer find. Okay, here goes.

Sons of Eros Series : This includes Savaro's Honey Buns, Rajan's Seduction, Laird's Choice and Jose's Surrender - These will be self published with Irie Loving Books. This is just a little something I'm doing with a few friends of mine to get our own stuff out there on our own.  The covers are part way done (yay for my brand spanking new cover artist!!). Well, three are done and the fourth is being worked on as I type this post. I am excited to show them off but cannot until they're all done and ILB says it's okay.

Ma CheriLove Lies Bleeding - I was very fortunate to have the gang at Wilde City take a look at it. While the story will go through vast edits, it was contracted and is being worked on for release.

For Your Entertainment and Cowboy Mine  - These two I am not sure about. Though Cowboy Mine has some major potential, I'll have to see what I can do with that. It may be self published.

Country Soul - Will be going through MAJOR edits early 2015 for re-release. I just don't know if I will self publish it or submit it to a publisher. Either way, it will be ready to go by summer of 2015 if all goes well.

Now for the new stuff.

Ma Cheri - This short story is a part of the Romance on the Go line at Evernight Publishing. Gaël Leveraeu put his foot in his mouth after a one night stand with the sexy Shawn Rhodes. The moment he walks away, however, Gaël knows he made a mistake. He wants more from Shawn, but did he screw everything up before it even started?

Shawn Rhodes never partakes in one night stands, but there was something about Gaël. After Gaël leaves, Shawn tries to get on with his life but a flower delivery brings Shawn back to face the possible feelings simmering just beneath the surface.

Captive to his Wonder - This novel is with Dreamspinner Press and is coming soon - as in later on this year. It will be in ebook & print so I can't wait for that. It's the first time I have a novel and the first time it's going straight to print with ebooks. So I am very excited about that.
SHIVERS - This is my first Paranormal anything. And to have them come in a book of three? Scary! But Totally Bound has picked up my SHIVERs series and Book one titled CIRO is due out later this year. Book one is ready to go and Book Two is in editing with me before submission.

Falling Slowly - This book is due out later this year as well from eXtasy Books.

And that's it so far - the updates.

Hugs,
Remmy

My Best Summer Memory

Welcome to the Is It Summer Yet? Blog hop. Thank you to Queer Town Abbey for inviting me! I'm always happy to be a part of stuff like this. This time they want us to talk about our Best summer memory.  Then the task was to go through and find one that I can talk about that is PG - lol - just playing.

But seriously, growing up I didn't have family vacations like most other kids. I lived in a third world country, on a hill, having to carry water from the river to that hill top for cooking, cleaning etc, carrying drinking water from a public pipe that was a good hour and a half walk from my house and all that. It wasn't easy growing up in Jamaica but it was worse being poor. Because we seemingly had one season (though we have all four there it's just a warm place so no snow) we did the same things all year round, school, church, chores then do it all over again. The closest we came to vacation was one year my birth father told me if I saved enough money he would take me to the beach. I wound up saving all my lunch money, going hungry for lunch (my father never knew I was not having my lunch) by the end of the school year I had close to two thousand dollars (Jamaican). Back then, two thousand was a lot of money.

Fast forward a year after that and I moved to Canada. When the first summer came, I was able to go to
New York and spend time with my aunt. Spending time with my aunt wasn't the best part, the best part was I got to go to New York! Now, you have to understand. I was born on a small island, lived in a small town and all that good stuff. Then I moved to Canada and Toronto blue my mind until I went to New York and the Greyhound pulled through Times Square at night.

It was my first time in city and it was around one of the many times that CATS was on Broadway.  I remember the excitement as school was coming to a close. I studied extra hard because I didn't want to fail anything and had to go to summer school. Though the only thing I ever failed was Math because quite honestly, I HATE Math because I wasn't any good at it.  Gladly, I passed everything, even pulled off a B+ in Math and three weeks later, I was sitting on a Greyhound bus (because I have this um thing about flying) and 14 hours later, we were rolling through Times Square in the wee hours of the morning.

So why is this my best summer memory?

Before that summer, I'd never travelled anywhere but from Jamaica to live in Canada. Going to the United States was so far out of my league. I used to watch movies and see all these people in the Big Apple, with the billboards and the lights and the traffic and the cabs--you watch fancy people walk to the curb, lift a hand in the air and yell "TAXI!" and instantly a yellow car pulls up before you (which was so cool! I did it a two years ago!). I didn't care that I wasn't flying there or that I'd only be there for a week. I made use of those days from going to see a play on Broadway, to eating authentic New York pizza and cheesecake. It was one of the best vacations I ever had!

Now for something really cool! Win a copy of the best selling DELIVER ME by commenting below!  And please, continue on the blog hop because Queer Town Abbey has some awesome prizes that you could win!

Hot in Fall Blog Hop = Welcome!

Welcome to the Hot in fall Blog hop! For the next seven days, we are giving you permission to take some time for yourself and just breathe.

With that in mind, lock yourself into the bathroom but not before taping a note to the door that states emphatically that for the next ten (of fiftee)minutes you will not do any of the following : boo-boo kissing, stopping his brother from breathing on him, telling him where you keep the toilet paper--either figure it out or use your finger. You will not be cooking, cleaning, going out to buy a new back pack for the seventh time this month, dropping anyone off, picking anyone up, looking at a zit that he thinks is cancerous (you know its not because you've looked at it many, MANY times before and even taken him to see a doctor and the doctor said its not), pulling anyone's finger, pulling your hubby's finger, baking anything, sewing anything last minute, telling her where the washer and dryer is because she's fifteen and should know now that her clean laundry just appear out of thin air in her room folded twice a week, helping anyone pull their finger out from where it is stuck, or stopping anyone from catching the cooties (or whatever it is the kids calling it these days)---by the time they finish reading this they'll either get the picture or get bored halfway through and just give up. While you write all that, we'll wait. In fact, while the rest of us wait for you, here's a hottie they can stare at.

Oh you're back. *Snaps fingers* ok, pay attention and stop looking at the booty for a second because there will be a test later.

Ready to get a moving? You sure? Bathroom door closed, music blaring? You're sitting on the closed toilet seat with her laptop in her lap?

Alright then, let's do this.

So most of you know that music is a HUGE part of my writing. I love it because a good song can pull out so much out out of you that nothing else can. When I was writing my new story DELIVER ME - I listened to a lot of sad love songs and also when I was writing my COWBOY MINE. I needed those sad songs to dig deep and GO THERE. I would like to now share with you, some of my favorite sexy tunes.

Let's start off with a little old school Barry White with a new school twist. Add Usher, Tyrese, LL Cool J, Robin Thicke, Tevin Campbell and you get something that is unforgettable with SECRET GARDEN.

Now we move to South Korea. This next guy is an actor, singer, writer, businessman - I don't know, with all the stuff he does, I do not know how he find time for anything else. Though the song is in Korean its still very sexy.  But I'm a part of a group that sub title songs with English so now every time I hear this song it breaks my heart. It's about a man who's in love with a girl who once loved him but now is pushing him away and he just can't get over it and has no idea what to do with himself  because she won't tell him why she's become so cold all of a sudden. Here's Rain aka Bi with LOVE SONG.

And most of you know Robin Thicke now - he's clean cut, short hair, sexy in his suits and strutting like a man walking on air. But before his Miley Cyrus debacle, Robin Thicke was a long haired punk with a golden voice. Here he is with WHEN I GET YOU ALONE

Remember earlier when I said there would be a test? Here it is. In one of these songs there is a line that said "You can keep your toys in the drawers tonight" If you watch the vids you can tell real easily which video. All I want you to do is send me the TITLE and the ARTIST to remmy.duchene AT gmail.com with "HOT FOR FALL" in the subject. DO NOT POST THE ANSWER IN THE COMMENT SECTION.

At the end of the blog hop, I will take all the correct answers with the names and put them in a hat, shake it around and tell my niece to reach in and pull one out. The winner gets a free eBook copy of THIS IS LOVE written by myself and the uber amazing Allison Cassatta.

A test you can dig, right? Oh and yes you can comment on the comment section but only those entered in the contest by email will qualify.

here is a Pretty cover for THIS IS LOVE made by Allison

Told you she was uber talented!

Hot in Fall Blog Hop - Welcome!

Let the game begin again! Welcome to the Hot in Fall Blog Hop! I put this together because lets face it - the kids started school in September and I'm sure with helping with homework, picking them up from school, driving them everywhere, you probably don't have time to just sit back, relax and do something just for you. So here's your chance to just take a few minutes for yourself and think of no one but you. So here's what you do, lock yourself in the bathroom with a radio, turn it to your favorite station and crank it!  Before you do that though, put a sign on the door that says "For the next ten minutes, I will not be cooking, cleaning, super-heroing, driving, speaking, boo-boo kissing, body-guarding or any other ings that doesn't including me. Yes, that means this is me time so go away."  Let me know when you've done that I can wait. In the mean time, here's a sexy for others to stare at while we wait.

All done?  Good.

For the next few minutes this is all about you. So how will I make it hot for you? Well, we're going to go to my second love...well my third..wait..writing, acting, photography, music, dancing...arg, *stops to count on finger* I give up. It's one of my loves and that is music. We're going to keep it sexy, hot and fun. Ready? Wait, pay attention, there will be a test!

Ready? Good because here goes. We're going to start out with a Quincy Jones production, a remix of Barry White's Secret Garden. This song have every body, Usher, Tevin Campbell, Robin Thicke, Tyrese, LL Cool J AND the  man, the legend BARRY WHITE!

Secondly, we're going to fall in love with one of the first (he could be the first but I'm not sure) openly gay country singers. The lovely, talented and did I mention sexy? Steve Grand with his song STAY.

To South Korea we go (oh come now. I write interracial erotic romance. You knew there'd be some culture in here). His name is Rain (bi) and I adore him and this song has some hip movements in this video that - well, here's Rain with LOVE SONG

Robin Thicke didn't just wake up one morning and decide "think I'm gonna sing some sexy shiz today" oh no. The first time I learned about Robin was on BET of all places and this song just got me. It's called GET YOU ALONE. Yes ladies, it is Robin Thicke before he started wearing suits and cut his hair.

Now I don't want to bombard you with sexies so I'm going to stop there. you remember me saying above there would be a test? Yes? Well, here's your test.

In one of these video there is a line of lyric that says "Well you can keep your toys in the drawer tonight." Email me with the song TITLE and ARTIST at remmy.duchene AT gmail.com with HOT FOR FALL in the subject heading. I will then pick one person to win a copy of THIS IS LOVE written by myself and the talented and beautiful Allison Cassatta! Do not put the answer in the comment section.

AND if you comment here I will pick one person to win a free copy of LOVE LIES BLEEDING!

Here are the covers

Have fun all! And welcome to fall! Oh, and please continue on the hop! There are prizes to be won!

Back to School with a little (or a lot) of Sizzle!

Hellooooo Hoppers!

Welcome to the Back to school Blog hop! First, thank you to the fantabulous Alisson Cassatta for setting this little ditty up. I am so happy to be a part of it.

All summer you had you 'me' time. It was all about entertaining the kids because now they are off school so you have to put on your full time mommy and daddy hat and do stuff with them. There's theme parks, vacation, tossed milk, mommy! She's breathing on me! and all those kinds of fun stuff. By the time the day is over you are so exhausted when you try reading you wind up falling asleep only to be awoken by your kindle smacking you in the face.

So here's the complaint I've gotten from quite a few of my readers in the summer time "I can't read because the kids are around and I can't get a moment's peace! It's mom I need this or dad I need that! Even when I lock myself in the bathroom you'd THINK they'd leave me the hell ALOOOOONE!"

All summer you've saved up money, pushed away your book budget to a little corner of your paypal or credit card or back account or under your mattress if you're like my grandmother because you just know you can't buy a book and not be tempted to lock the kids in their bedroom just so you can get a second to read one of your sizzling sexies!

But now - Sizzle-cravers rejoice! You can see the light at the end of the tunnel! School beginning is so close you can taste it! It is the end of August and the days are quickly ticking down for your little ones to go back to school! You've been going through withdrawals all summer and now its time for you to go crazy! Allow your mind to slowly slip back into the romantic gutter! You are trembling from your sexy withdrawal, your left eye is twitching! Binge and purge!!!

*clears throat* my bad. Got carried away there for a second.

For most of you, your kids are already back in school - congratulations! You stand on the sidewalk, sad to see your babies leave but happy to see the back of that yellow school bus. Because in the next ten hours, they will be at school, and for eight of those hours you will be at work, then you have about an hour to delve into all the summer  yummies you've missed out on!

For me, I have IF I WAS YOUR MAN out at Breathless Press. This story is so sexy, I blushed while writing it. There's spanking and chocolate covered somethings and ice-cubes, it's going to be delicious. Coming quite soon, in time for the final deadline for all your school aged kids to hit the books is my release with Allison called THIS IS LOVE. You see, Dreamspinner Press read it and thought - *puts on my Barry White voice* well hello! - That's my smarmy way of saying, you can now pre-order THIS IS LOVE at Dreamspinner right now! But wait, there's more! lol. My release LOVE LIES BLEEDING is now at Silver Publishing! In this one there's a little murder, a little mystery and a whole lotta sexy!

And the rest of the authors in this hop are fan-tabulous as well because they have oodles of summer sexies you are going to have hours of reading to catch up on. So listen, I don't want to keep you because you've suffered enough.  But for those of you who comment here I will pick one person and give them a free ebook copy of IF I WAS YOUR MAN!

Here are some sexy covers!

One more thing before I go - Please continue on the hop. And good luck with all the yummy prizes we have in store!

Seduction so Sweet is here!

Title: Seduction so Sweet
Genre: IR (Blasian)
Cover: Allisson Cassatta

Toshi and Frank are best friends. Now they are both adults, Toshi sees Frank as more than a friend--his body burns with things he wants to do to Frank. Only, he has no idea if Frank feels the same way. But what is he going to do when he finds out just what Frank is into?

EXCERPT:
For about a week Toshi wouldn’t answer Frank’s calls. Frank couldn’t imagine why Toshi was ignoring him. It couldn’t have anything to do with the stupid joke. Taking a breath he chucked his bag onto the passenger seat then climbed into the front seat.  For a moment he simply sat there, gripping the wheel, staring straight ahead.  For that time, he wasn’t sure what he was thinking but when he finally shook his head and looked around he figured he should go visit Toshi.
If Mohamed won’t come to the mountain…
The drive over wasn’t a very long one on a regular day but during rush hour it was hell.  The anger he was feeling from being ignored didn’t compare to the one he felt being stuck in a line of cars going nowhere. Each time he moved he had to slam on his brakes then pray the moron tailgating him didn’t crash into his back.  Eventually, he gave up and pulled from the highway. He would have to travel the back roads with the stop lights but he just prayed no one else had that idea.  To his relief he was right and getting to Toshi’s condo after that didn’t take much longer.  He parked in front of the building, fed the meter and hurried inside. He waved to the concierge but he’d been there so many times, he wasn’t asked for identification. He caught the elevator and couldn’t stop the roll of his eyes at the horribly predictable music. By the time the door opened releasing him to Toshi’s floor, he all but barged out of the elevator and speed walked down the corridor.  He stood to the side from the peeping hole and knocked.
            “Who is it?” Toshi called.
            Frank said nothing.
Toshi opened the door to peer out and Frank stepped before him. “Why have you been ignoring my calls?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Toshi walked back into the condo and Frank followed, closing the door. “Why are you here?”

On Valentine's Day

At some point last year I heard Sara York was putting together this anthology and I jumped at the chance to be a part of it. My story "Impromptu Valentine's" is a part of the ON VALENTINE'S DAY anthology with some wonderful company.  My story is Interracial (BM/IM). You can snag this where ever you snag your Ebooks like Amazon and places like that.

Or just click here to grab your copy!

Here are the blurbs:

Louis Hated Valentine’s Day by Sue Brown - For Louis it meant long hours making bouquets for men who handed over a dozen red roses and ignored their spouses for the rest of the year. No one appreciated the language of flowers except Arnie who came in each week, buying flowers for a man didn’t even listen to what Arnie was trying to say.

Moonlight Masquerade by Raine Delight - Mysterious roses keep popping up on Skylar Everclear's doorstep. No idea what is going, a little disturbed by this secret admirer, he tries to forget it all since he just got rid of the latest line of loser boyfriends and just wants to do his job at the local bakery. But when he meets his new neighbor, Marc Douglas, he finds himself drawn to the quiet young man even as he tries to not let his libido take over. But on Valentine's Day, a mysterious rose again pops up with a note to meet his admirer that night. Will Skylar take a chance that this time, love is right there waiting for him?

Impromptu Valentine's by Remmy Duchene - Allam Dalliwal’s mother, his everything, has died. After her funeral, unable to handle it and being a cop as well as the fact that his most hated day was coming up (Valentine’s Day), he knows he has to get away from the city. He runs to his friend’s cabin on Fergus Hill, over-looking the ocean to get back some feeling in his life. When he walks into the bedroom to see a chocolate Adonis asleep in the only bed there, Allam is appalled. That is until he finds out, this man is Derek and friend of a friend’s and isn’t a threat. Then Allam’s body begins showing just what he truly thinks of Derek Walker.

Private Investigator Derek Walker is at a point in his life where being a snoop isn’t in his blood anymore and his body is exhausted. Fleeing to his friend’s cabin is the only think that catches his fancy. When he wakes up to a gun in his face, he can’t help but notice the cop holding the gun is sexy as sin. How as he going to go a week, with the Indian hottie without claiming him as his own?

Be My Valentine, Bobby Bryson by Geoffrey Knight - When seven-year-old Mikey Madsen makes a Valentine’s Day card for someone named Bobby Bryson, it would seem to those around him that the very cornerstone of society might crumble. His teacher has a melt-down, his school principal goes into damage control and his single mother Kate isn’t quite sure how to handle the fact that her young son has just declared his love for another boy.

Will Mikey’s teachers and grandparents convince him that he has made some sort of ‘mistake’? Will society’s perceptions of romance forever alter one young boy’s understanding of true love? And just who is Bobby Bryson?

Champagne Kisses by JR Loveless - Their date cancelled on the most romantic day of the year, Sam Evans feels betrayed by Dean, who often puts work before their relationship. Brooding about his lover's lack of commitment toward him, he leaves work early only to be stunned by what awaits him outside the door.

Love Letters by Patricia Logan - Fourteen-year-old Jared Yates has developed a monstrous crush on the hottest guy in school. Eighteen-year-old Thad Maxfield is the high school varsity basketball center and the handsome six-foot three inch babe wouldn’t look Jared’s way if he was the last kid on earth. Jared decides to confess his love for Thad in a series of love letters stuffed into the older guy’s locker each morning leading up to Valentine’s Day.

Once the notes begin to arrive, Thad is suddenly flattered, wondering who the girl could be. Thad formulates his own plan to find out who his admirer is and stakes out his locker early one morning, only to finding to his utter surprise, Jared Yates, a kid he knows only from his face at basketball games and the local burger joint, running away from his locker. Thad decides to start a note campaign of his own, intrigued by his own awakening feelings for the young man. When Jared and he finally meet in the sports equipment room, the sparks ignite in a sweet and special way, turning Valentine’s Day into a day neither boy will ever forget.

Captain of His Heart by Michael Mandrake - Mario Dagosta has just broken up with his high school sweetheart and hasn’t dated since. Downtrodden and not able to cope, he spends many of his days at home. A very eclectic young man who prefers Tom Clancy to gay or m/m romances.

Cooper Delaney is a retired general who watched his forty something lover walks out on him. Always upbeat and confident, he knows he will find someone suitable to be his man.
Mario has it bad for the mature man and wants more but will he be deterred by the mocking from his best friends about his choice for a mate?

The Hearts Have Wounds by Kharisma Rhayne - Tyler knew Ken as his true love. After four years together things got out of control. Ken, who’d never admitted to his parents he was gay, broke up with Tyler and broke his heart in the process.

Would time heal Tyler’s wounds or was there really only one true love for each person?

Cat vs Dog 2 by A.J. Llewellyn and Serena Yates - C.A. Tallus has done what he previously considered unthinkable: he has fallen in love with a werewolf. Gay Ski Week in Aspen a year ago was such a success that he has even moved to Colorado to be with his lover, Bryan Braun. Despite the odds and the doomsayers' predictions, they are happy together, and with Valentine's Day in sight, Cory is hoping for more. More time with his busy wolf, more romance, and definitely more loving in and out of the bedroom. Bryan, busy pack alpha though he may be, has planned it all down to a T. Or should he say D? They are off to Disneyland's Gay Day and LA for a long weekend of fun. Taking their friends James, the ex-scrimper, and Tommy, the beta wolf shifter who is also James's dog named Tank when he chooses, seemed like a good idea at the time. But when Tommy threatens to reveal it all to an unknowing James, will they survive the fallout?

Sweet Happenings by Sara York - When Matt Wilson is dumped on Valentine's Day he never expects to find love again. His bakery is enough, until Robert Baxter rolls into town and show him what love really is. But Robert doesn't live in New York full time and he and Matt struggle to make a relationship. Can love win out in the end, or will their relationship be just another sweet happening in Matt's life.

The Orchid Murders Strike Again!

Title: The Orchid Murders
Authors: John Simpson and Remmy Duchene
Publisher: eXtasy Books
ISBN: 978-1-55487-473-6
Genre: [M/M] Contemporary Mystery
Rating: 4 Nymphs
Literary Nymphs Reviewers: Mystical Nymph

Anderson Williams might not have the perfect life but that doesn’t mean he isn’t happy, or at least mostly. So what if he has a lousy record with men, and has been alone for longer than he wants to remember. He has a few good friends, a teaching job he enjoys and a father he loves. That all changes in a matter of a few short hours when he discovers his murdered father’s body and a maddeningly annoying police detective, Sam Morgan, barrels into his life, intent on catching the killer.

A serial killer, with an odd orchid calling card, is loose on the streets of New York City and Detective Sam Morgan is determined to stop him before he strikes again. He doesn’t have time for Anderson’s anger and he definitely doesn’t have time to fall in love. Yet, the more time Sam spends with the sexy professor, the more Anderson gets under his skin.

The Orchid Murders has a lot going on; making it fit more than one genre. At heart it’s a thriller, following the hunt for a brutal killer who dismembers his victims; and all manner of juicy clues are revealed as the story progresses. There’s a strange connection between the victims, the orchid left at the scenes, and an unexpected twist involving Yale University, just to name a few.

Then there’s the police aspect. The police procedures and interdepartmental relations are realistic, as is the partnership between Sam and Roger. There are plenty of gruesome details relating to the murder, several red herrings that baffle the cops, and plenty of future victims. And let’s not forget the crazy killer who somehow manages to keep a step ahead of the police.

The dialogue is snappy, the flow good, the characters interesting, and the premise so realistic that the plot could have been pulled from the headlines of any major newspaper. That’s what makes this story so bone-chilling. There really are people in the world capable of doing exactly what the villain in The Orchid Murders did. They all have family, friends and neighbors, and most of the time these people don’t have a clue. How common is it to hear afterwards on a news report…’he was the nicest young man’?

Lastly is the romance between Sam and Anderson. Their chemistry sparks immediately but it’s anything but smooth sailing for these two, since both have enough emotional baggage to sink any relationship. It takes a lot of work and understanding on both their parts to make a go of it and mostly, they’re doing it at different times, which made for all kinds of problems. In fact, despite their passion and desire they still fight like cats and dogs, making me want to smack them on the head and yell ‘grow up’.

On a final note, there are a few typos and point of view issues, but nothing that distracts too badly from the story.

The Orchid Muders--5 Stars...WHAT???

So this morning I woke up and I was supposed to be doing a one page summary of what I learnt in my last History and Civilization Lecture (can someone say welcome to high school all over again?) anyways, so needless to say I didn't want to do it and I was pouting something crazy. So I decided to google The Orchid Murders by myself and John Simpson and see what popped up. To my pleasant surprise our first review popped up!! And guess what?? We got 5 Stars from Lydia at Rainbow Reviews! Here's some of what she had to say...

"...It’s not uncommon in a book that incorporates more than one genre for one of those genres to get lost behind the other. That does not happen in "The Orchid Murders," a mystery romance by authors John Simpson and Remmy Duchene... "

"...As the cops set about solving their case, there are many twists and turns that are sure to keep the reader just as baffled as the cops...."

"....On the romance front, the chemistry between Anderson and Sam is present from the beginning..."

"...I hope this will not be the last story these two put out together and highly recommend it to both mystery and romance fans alike..."

Well you have to click here for the full review but as you can see why I'm flailing like a nerd. Ok, now am off to see if John saw it *giggles* and get that paper done ugh. Oh and if you haven't gotten the Orchid Murders yet, eXtasy Books has it!

Hugs to all,
Remmy

"This story is about two grown ass gay men that each have a little doubt for one reason or another if their relationship will work. The story is conveyed well and kept completely on the adult playing field, I loved it! When these two get going in the bedroom it is passionate and sensual."--TSM
